Harbor cannons
The fire frequency of a harbor cannons is extremly low.
You have enough time to dodge its first shoot, fire and leave the shooting area again. Do not try to beat about near the harbor cannons, especially if you have to fight more than one.
Their range of fire is greater than yours. You have to "sail under" the first shoot. But even the fastest ship will get hit at its stern. Therefore you have to doge the first shoot immediately.
The harbor cannon always fires at the area you should reach with constant speed and course. It never fires at your current position.
You will never get hit if you move in a circle with sufficient speed. Change your course immediately after the habor cannon shoot.
The amount of harbor cannons is not important as they will/should never shoot all at once. Of course you have to take them out one by one from the out- to the inside.
It is not necessary to eliminate one harbor cannon befor you continue with the next one. Stop your attack when the wind turns to a disadvantageous direction and continue with an other harbor cannon.
