Start Port Royale 2 vs. Windows Why is my CD not accepted as original one?

Why is my CD not accepted as original one?

In some cases the copy protection may not accept you CD as original one. Some hints to solve the issue: 1. Deactivate all unnecessary programs and processes that are running in the background, e.g. anti-virus tools, firewalls, system cleaner, before you start the game.

2. Deactivate or even better uninstall existing virtual CD/DVD drives, e.g. from Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% oder CloneCD. In case of doubt you have to uninstall the related driver manually.

3. In case you have an additional CD/DVD drive you should try to run the game from this drive.

4. In some cases copy protections used by other games may produce this issue, e.g. games that make use of older versions of StarForce copy protection. StarForce supplies a removal tool for its copy protection here on the lower part of the page ("Starforce Driver Removal Tool"). After you downloaded and installed the tool Port Royale 2 should run.

5. Make sure your used CD/DVD drive is connected to the IDE port and not the RAID controller of your motherboard.

6. Install the latest motherboard driver provided by the manufacturer.

7. Do you use an unauthorised ("hacked") CD/DVD firmware? This will cause an original CD not to get accepted.

8. Is any device marked with a question/exclamation mark in the Windows Device Manager? In this case you have to install the latest driver.
